"We can't start the learning process because of you." How the occupiers have (dis)organised education for Ukrainian children in occupation

The article investigates how education in occupied Ukrainian regions has been transformed under Russian control. Ukrainian school directors are being replaced, parents are bribed or coerced to support Russian-style schooling, and students are taught distorted versions of history. Ukrainian textbooks are banned and replaced with Russian ones. This systemic change is a tool to reshape identity and instill loyalty to the occupying power.
