The article investigates how education in occupied Ukrainian regions has been transformed under Russian control. Ukrainian school directors are being replaced, parents are bribed or coerced to support Russian-style schooling, and students are taught distorted versions of history. Ukrainian textbooks are banned and replaced with Russian ones. This systemic change is a tool to reshape identity and instill loyalty to the occupying power.
