The Reckoning Project is pleased to announce that our Founder and CEO, Janine di Giovanni, has been appointed Senior Fellow at Yale University’s Human Rights Program for the Fall 2025 semester.
During her fellowship, Janine will teach a course on human rights in conflict and post-conflict settings, drawing on TRP’s documentation and accountability work as case studies. This appointment marks a return to Yale, where she previously served as a Senior Fellow at the Jackson School of Global Affairs (2018-2022) and as a Tom and Andi Bernstein Visiting Fellow for Human Rights at Yale Law School (2024-2025).
She now joins our Board Chair, David Simon, Director of Yale’s Genocide Studies Program, as well as our Advisory Board Member, Bonnie Weir, further strengthening TRP’s institutional partnership with Yale. As part of this partnership, TRP plans to convene a symposium on human rights in late autumn.
Janine will split time between New Haven and the New York City area during this period, which will allow TRP to leverage her presence in the United States by prioritizing events, partnerships, and outreach with academic institutions, policymakers, and stakeholders. She will continue to serve as CEO of The Reckoning Project, ensuring our ongoing work documenting war crimes and advancing accountability remains fully active and uninterrupted.
This appointment reflects both Janine’s distinguished career and the growing recognition of TRP’s unique role in combining rigorous documentation with legal action and public engagement.
