TRP Welcomes Tirana Hassan and Fatou Bensouda to Board of Directors

At a moment when international norms are under strain and accountability work has become both more difficult and more urgent, The Reckoning Project continues to expand its mandate across multiple regions. As we do so, we are focused on strengthening our governance to ensure that this work remains rigorous, principled, and sustainable.

It is in this context that I am honored to welcome Tirana Hassan and Fatou Bensouda to The Reckoning Project's Board of Directors.

Tirana Hassan, Chief Executive Officer of Médecins Sans Frontières USA (Doctors Without Borders) and former Executive Director of Human Rights Watch, brings decades of frontline experience documenting atrocities, alongside exceptional organizational leadership. Her judgment and understanding of field-based evidence collection will be invaluable as TRP continues to operate in complex environments.

Fatou Bensouda, High Commissioner of The Gambia to the United Kingdom, and former Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, is one of the world's foremost figures in international criminal law. Her experience guiding complex investigations and advancing accountability will help shape our legal strategy and our work.

We are deeply honored that Tirana and Fatou have chosen to join TRP at this moment. Their leadership and expertise meaningfully strengthens our Board as we continue to grow our work and extend its reach.
