As TRP enters its fourth year, we are deepening our mission to document atrocity crimes and transform testimonies into tools for accountability, media, and advocacy. We are launching new initiatives and strengthening our team to drive this next phase of impact.
Launching TRP’s Sudan Initiative
TRP is launching a new documentation initiative in Darfur, Sudan. We will train Sudanese researchers and work with trusted local partners to collect survivor testimonies—particularly involving conflict-related sexual violence—preserving witness integrity for future legal processes and fueling media projects that elevate survivor voices.
This work is led by Jehanne Henry, TRP’s Sudan Country Director, a human rights lawyer and researcher with extensive experience in Sudan and East Africa, including senior roles at Human Rights Watch and engagements with the UN and international tribunals.
Expanding TRP’s Legal Team
TRP is expanding its legal capacity to strengthen submissions to judicial and quasi-judicial entities, including the International Criminal Court and UN treaty bodies. Our legal strategy spans accountability for high- and mid-level actors and addresses themes such as socio-economic rights violations, militarization of youth, and responsibilities of occupation authorities.
This effort is led by Director of Legal Operations Wendy Betts alongside our new Director of Legal Affairs, Christopher “Kip” Hale, a veteran atrocity-crimes attorney with leadership roles in UN investigations and international accountability mechanisms.
Establishing TRP’s Research Unit
TRP has launched a Research Unit to formalize analytical work and strengthen advocacy outputs. The unit ensures field testimonies are translated into concise analytical briefs for targeted engagement with UN bodies, OSCE, Council of Europe, U.S. Congress, European Parliament, and the UK Parliament.
The unit is led by Roman Avramenko, TRP’s Director of Research, an expert in documenting international crimes with a decade of experience and over 70 field missions across the region.
Looking Ahead
TRP’s work in Ukraine continues as we broaden to new contexts such as Sudan. With an expanded team and deepened expertise, we remain focused on transforming survivor testimonies into evidence, advocacy, and storytelling that drive accountability.
